Dutch-born Wim Selders is a lifetime National Trustee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a volunteer position which he joined in 1994. After retiring as CEO of an advanced semiconductor laser company, he initiated bringing the concept of Boys & Girls Clubs to Mexico where he recruited and has advised extraordinary leaders to build clubs that operate similar to the great clubs in the U.S., providing essential and proven services to Mexican kids, especially those that live in extreme poverty. The first club south of the U.S. border opened in the city of Tijuana in 2008. Wim also helped build alliances to sustain the growth of Mexican clubs financially. By 2020 the number of clubs has grown to 13 across Mexico. Wim is a board member of the Mexican National Board and is also a board member of two local clubs in the U.S.
