A pandemic can be very confusing for everyone, especially for young people.  The World Health Organization and other organizations have created materials that can help in explaining the current situation.Follow this link for six one-page tips for parents, from the World Health Organization, so parents can constructively interact with their children. Topics include: Planning one-on-one time, staying positive, creating a daily routine, avoiding bad behavior, managing stress and talking about COVID-19.

COVID – 19 Facts via WhatsApp – The service can be accessed through a link that opens a conversation on WhatsApp. Users can simply type “hi” to activate the conversation, prompting a menu of options that can help answer their questions about COVID-19.

This video provides a great family workout.  Because it’s on YouTube, it can also be watched on a phone or sent via WhatsApp.  Parents and kids can participate, and can challenge each other.

Great website with curriculum based science videos, with experiments to go along with them.  There is no sign up or login required.

Printable Resources:
Over a million pages of free printable worksheets. The site also includes hands on activities, printable games and a lot more to make learning FUN!

All Kids Network offers tons of printable crafts, art, math, reading and many other worksheets that can be downloaded and are FREE!

History Activities:
A step by step guide from the Royal Ontario Museum, where youth can learn how to write their name in Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs. What other words can they come up with?  Fun for kids and adults!

FREE Communication & Productivity Tools

RingCentral: Free video conferencing for educators (K-12 schools), health-care provider, or non-profits.

Zoom: Free video conferencing tools for K-12 schools and non-profits.

Google: Free, premium version of its workplace video chat tool until July, to help businesses and schools working remotely due to coronavirus. Those features include having up to 250 participants per call, live streaming for up to 100,000 viewers within a domain, and the ability to record meetings and save them to Google Drive.

Intermedia: Free Video Conferencing for all of 2020, and Pro Video Conferencing until 2021.

Zoho: Free suite of Remotely apps until July 1. There are 11 apps in all, including ones for online meetings, training sessions, storage, project management and everyday work (in the form of word processing, spreadsheets and presentations).

Dropbox: Free Dropbox Business and HelloSign Enterprise subscriptions for a three-month period to nonprofits and NGOs that are focused on fighting COVID-19. Organizations working to stop the virus or providing relief to those impacted are encouraged to apply.

Docusign: Free access to Docusign for managing electronic agreements.
